<br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />January 14, 2019 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Hollimon. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Robert Boyd, William Cook, Amina Ghouse (arrived at 6:33 <br />p.m.), Geoff Hollimon, Tanya Kessler, and Stephanie Malone. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Sara Conway, and Karen Wagner. <br /> <br />Also Present: Deputy Director Hamdorf, Council Member Emily Dunsworth and Dave Matteson <br />(Allina Health). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Kessler, seconded by Boyd to approve the January 14, 2019 agenda as presented. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Kessler, seconded by Cook to approve the December 10, 2018 minutes as presented. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />V. Presentations and Public Hearings <br /> <br />A. North Suburban Hazardous Materials Response Team – Trevor Hamdorf, Deputy <br />Director of Public Safety <br /> <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf provided the Commission with a presentation on the North <br />Suburban Hazardous Materials Response Team. He explained this team is comprised of <br />local fire departments throughout Hennepin and Ramsey County. He described types of <br />drills and training the members of this team receives on a yearly basis. He discussed the <br />types of calls the Haz Mat team responds to in the community, along with the technology <br />used on these calls. <br /> <br />Discussion included: <br />• Staff described how the Haz Mat team works with neighboring agencies. <br />• Risk versus threat analysis processes that are followed by the Haz Mat team were <br />discussed. <br />• The history of the Haz Mat team was reviewed.
