<br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />May 13, 2019 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Vice Chair Wagner. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Robert Boyd, William Cook, Amina Ghouse, Tanya Kessler, <br />Stephanie Kitzhaber, Stephanie Malone, Karen Wagner, and Ache Wakai. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Geoff Hollimon. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Tony Paetznick, Council Member Paul Jacobsen and Dave Matteson <br />(Allina Health). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kessler, seconded by Commissioner Cook to approve the May 13, <br />2019 agenda as presented. Motion carried 8-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kessler, seconded by Commissioner Boyd to approve the April 8, <br />2019 minutes as presented. Motion carried 8-0. <br /> <br />V. Presentations and Public Hearings <br /> <br />A. Body Worn Cameras Update <br /> <br />Director Paetznick provided the Commission with an update on the Public Safety <br />Department’s Body Worn Cameras (BWC’s). He reviewed the process the City followed to <br />review and approve moving forward with BWC’s. He explained the department has 36 <br />BWC’s for its officers noting 32 were currently in use. He provided the Commission with a <br />camera and noted the department had 6.5 TB of data that had been collected. Director <br />Paetznick described what type of calls BWC’s were activated for, but noted officers could <br />record all public encounters. He thanked the Commission for their input and support for the <br />BWC’s. <br /> <br /> <br />
