<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />December 14, 2020 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Hollimon. Due to the COVID-19 <br />pandemic this meeting was held virtually. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Robert Boyd, Amina Ghouse, Geoff Hollimon, Tanya <br />Kessler, Stephanie Kitzhaber, and Jack Winkels. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Karen Wagner and Ache Wakai. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Tony Paetznick, Council Member Graeme Allen and Dave Matteson <br />(Allina Health). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Kessler, seconded by Kitzhaber to approve the December 14, 2020 agenda as <br />presented. A roll call vote was taken. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Kessler, seconded by Winkels to approve the November 9, 2020 minutes as <br />presented. A roll call vote was taken. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />V. Presentations and Public Hearings <br /> <br />A. Traffic Stop Data Collection Follow Up – Tony Paetznick, Public Safety Director <br /> <br />Director Paetznick stated returning to the topic of traffic stop data collection that has <br />annually been reviewed by the Commission since such information was first made available <br />from 2017, we will resume discussions at this meeting that were initiated at our September <br />14, 2020 meeting. This process continues as part of the agency’s commitment to the <br />community in listening to concerns from residents about local law enforcement and leading <br />organizational responses to the issues raised especially during the summertime months <br />regarding police reform. He commented on the timeline for the LISTEN initiative which <br />included review of the departments use of force policy and traffic stop data.
