Public Safety Commission <br />March 30, 2015 <br />Attending: Commissioner Allen, Commissioner Boyd, Commissioner Donohue, <br />Commissioner Eichers, Commissioner Hollimon, Commissioner Kerns, <br />Commissioner Lamp, Commissioner Schumann, Director Jacobson, Dave <br />Matteson (Allina Health) and Council Member Mary Burg <br />Absent: Commissioner Kocon <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br />Commissioner Allen called the March meeting to order at 6:30 pm and roll call was taken. <br />February Meeting Minutes <br />The February meeting minutes were reviewed. Commissioner Schumann made a motion to approve the <br />February meeting minutes; Commissioner Hollimon seconded. Motion carried. <br />Public Hearing/Presentation <br />A. <br />N/A <br />Updates <br />A. Citizen Corps Council <br />Director Jacobson reported the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner will be a combined event with Public <br />Safety and Parks & Recreation; scheduled for Sunday, April 26, at 5:30 pm at the Community Center. <br />Officer Matt Farmer is the new Police Reserves liaison. He will be assisting Officer Brad Krebsbach <br />who has been the Police Reserves liaison for several years. They are starting to plan for Stockyard <br />Days. <br />Department Reports <br />A. Human Rights <br />No report. <br />B. Allina Health <br />Mr. Dave Matteson, Allina Health, reviewed New Brighton statistics for 2014, highlighting the <br />following: <br />• There were 1760 emergent/911 calls in New Brighton. <br />• 66% of these calls had prearrival instructions from Dispatch. <br />• The slowest month for calls was November and the busiest month was December. <br />• 76.17% of calls resulted in transport. <br />0 The average response time for all emergent calls was 7:01. <br />
