Weissman appeared at 8:20 p.m..
Board members absent: Gunderman.
Other present: Robert M. Wicklund,, Charles Corlett, Mr. Richard
Neuman and Councilman and Mrs. E. E. Fisher.
The minutes of the. regular meeting of May 3, 1972 were approved with
the following correction: page 3, paragraph 6 venture with
Ramsey County .
Agenda .additions: Long Range plan status.
Hansen Park Street Vacations
Board reviewed the platted streets and alleys in and around Hansen
Park at the request of the Council to determine if their vacation
would affect status ;of the park. Vacating the streets and alleys
would result in the property either reverting to the adjoining
property owner or the property owner at the time of platting.. During
the course of the discussion it Tnras determined that there were many
legal difficulties concerning what would happen in various instances
if a specific street or alley would be vacated.
Richard Neuman appeared and indicated a desire to have 5th Street
between 13th and 16th Avenues N.W.. vacated. Apart of .that street
adjoined his lot and he felt vacation of the street would provide a
better buffer between his house and-the park, and it would also
provide some insurance against 5th Street ever being constructed.
He indicated he would be petitioning the Council for vacation of
that portion of 5th Street and he stated that he thought all of the
park vacation should be handled at the same time.
The Board requested that more information be obtained from the village
attorney as to potential difficulties with street vacations, both in
Hansen Park and in the Long Lake site.
Motion by Sherlock to hold discussion in abeyance pending legal
op~.nions on Hanson and Long Lake street vacations. Seconded by Cook.
Motion carries.
