Fisher <br />DISCUSSION ON NAMING THE PARK <br />Invitations to various community groups were sent out inviting a <br />representative to attend the Park Board meeting to discuss a NAMING <br />THE PARK CONTEST. The following organizations were present and <br />represented by> <br />Paul Holmes <br />Leonora Parham <br />Dick Daniels <br />Russ Peterson <br />Frank Haberkorn <br />N.B. Lions <br />LWV <br />N.B. Sportsmen <br />Jaycees <br />Jaycees <br />The Board was informed that the Mrs. Jaycees are also interested in this <br />project, but owing to a problem at the last minute their represen- <br />tative was unable to attend. <br />Morris outlined the Board's preliminary thinking: of the idea of naming <br />of the parks and the method to accomplish this end. Generally <br />speaking, the names of the park via community contest would involve <br />judging and selecting of names and prizes to be given. To make this <br />a community project, the Board solicited the involvement of various <br />community organizations. <br />Members of the community organizations would serve as a committee to <br />handle the program. The Board would tentatively set up a program <br />calling for response of interest and involvement. During June and <br />July, the promotion of the program beginning with the school year, <br />with the final selection on the contest scheduled for October or <br />November. <br />There followed a general discussion between <br />generally concurred that the various groups <br />the organizational efforts would be started <br />meeting.
