,. <br />,; <br />~ ~ <br />PARK BOARD MEETING <br />Meeting of December 13,.1967 <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:20 P.M. <br />Present were Gunderman, Morris, Weissman, Donald Brauer and Chuck Hefty of <br />Brauer & Associates, Mrs. Claudia Jorgensen of the League of <br />Women Voters, Robert W. Schaefer, Village Manager. <br />Hagemeyer arrived at 7:25 P.M. <br />The Board reviewed the light standards for hockey rinks. Motion by Morris, <br />seconded by Weissman to include metal poles on the base bid with wood poles <br />on the alternate bid. <br />Hagemeyer at 7:25 p.M. <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Hagemeyer that fencing for the light, west <br />side of .the Fcss Raad sifie be included in the specifications as an alternate.. <br />Final plans and specifications for the work to be done on the Foss Road, Pike <br />Lake and Sunnyside sites are to be presented Thursday, December Z1, 1967. <br />Meeting recessed at 8:03 P.M. <br />Meeting reconvened at 8:07 P.M. <br />The Board considered petition received from Lakeshore property owners on Lang <br />Lake dated August i, 1967, and referred to the Park Board. <br />None of the petition signers were .present at the meeting. Mr. James Finley, <br />1333 i2 Avenue N.W., appeared on his own behalt to speak of the problems caused <br />by ice fishermen. Mr. Richard Oanieis, secretary of the New Brighton Sports- <br />mans Club, appeared with members of the Sportsmens Club. Mr. Daniels offered <br />for Board recommendation to the Village Council the following proposal of <br />cooperation: <br />I. The Sportsmens Club will place receptacles tl5 to start) and will <br />arrange for private pickup of refuse. <br />2. Sportsmens Club at its expense will elect signs at the southern <br />entrance to the lake. <br />3. The Village Police Department in cooperation with the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff's office shalt cooperate to intensify patrolling of the lake and <br />enforcing the legal behavior on the lake. <br />4. The Sportsmens Ciub shall also receive the cooperation of the State <br />Conservation Department in enforcing laws relating to lakes. <br />Mr. Richard McCrea posed several questions regarding snowmobiles. <br />Mr. Daniels indicated that the matter of snowmobiles had not been discussed <br />by the Club. The Sportsmens Ciub had confined themselves only to the context <br />of the petition as submitted. <br />
