y EYCERPT FROM SPECIAL PARK BOARD MEETING <br />MARCH 15, 1982 <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Olson, that the Park Board <br />recommend to the New Brighton City Council adoption of <br />the Long Lake Regional Park Master Plan with five changes: <br />1. Parking for large group picnic area be <br />reduced to accommodate 100 cars <br />2. Parking for the small group picnic area <br />be reduced to accommodate 50 cars <br />3. Parking at the boat launch area be re- <br />duced to accommodate 15 vehicles with <br />trailers; 5 for high-speed boats and <br />10 for fishing boats or sail boats with <br />one year moratorium on the development <br />in this area as requested by the New <br />Brighton Historical Society <br />4. The 1982 development capital improve- <br />ment program be revised to reflect <br />expenditures as stated in staff memo <br />dated March 11, 1982: <br />$ 86,000 Trails - Long Lake segment only <br />200,000 Access Road - Old 8 to beach <br />36,000 Fencing <br />63,000 Picnic S.G. - gravel parking, <br />site development, shelter <br />25,000 Reforestation.-.picnic and <br />beach area <br />33,000 Nature Study - site development, <br />trails, gravel-parking <br />10,000 Fishing docks <br />210,000 Beach - bathhouse (no utilities), <br />gravel parking <br />5. The 1984 termination. date be removed from the <br />Joint Powers Agreement.,. and the wording of item <br />7 be changed to read: "This agreement may be <br />terminated and/or renegotiated upon mutual consent <br />of the city and the county." <br />Recommend that. the .Long Lake site be opened and .operated <br />for minimal use for the-summer of 1982. <br />Amendment by Grimshaw, seconded by Carlson, that the <br />large picnic area have atotal of 100 .parking spots; <br />eliminating the overflow parking lot at that site. <br />Amendment passed..
