NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES SEPTEMBER 5, 1984. i- 1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gunderman at 7:30pm. LL. Members present: Carlson, Gunderman., Hogan, Olson, Rose, Van Hatten, Council Representative Janecek III. Minutes of August 1, 1984 meeting were approved as submitted. Iv. Correspondence A. Council .Report ~,- Jancecek stated that Ken Simons, Ramsey County, is planning- - to attend a Council Meeting in the near _future to talk about .Long Lake. The Council amended the CIP to include the Hansen. Park tennis court. resurfacing. The Recreation Open Space Development Guide/Policy Plan Issues Paper was presented orally to the Metropolitan Parks and Open Space Commission. Gave preliminary approval for Water Ridge. B. Long Lake Advisory Committee Anderson stated their first meeting will be the week after next. Anderson said. something that should have been mentioned in the Council Report is that. the Historical Society has been granted a 50 year lease at :the City Maintenance site. Gunderman asked if there were any legal ramifications relating to changes in the Master Plan. Anderson said no. There are only.. two likely changes; the boat: launch-site and the Historical Society depot site move to Long Lake.. The proposed new launch site will need close supervision to limit the number of boats. If moved to the south end, it would be cheaper in the development but operation cost would be much higher .and New Brighton does~ntt want to get stuck with that. It needs careful consideration. Gunderman asked if there was any problem with the sale of the land to Ramsey County. Anderson said. it's ali done, the transfer is complete. The County is now talking with the railroad and the most recent plans regarding the pipeline are to lower the pipeline and build the road over it. Anderson said bids. have been let for initial phases of sewer and water and road construction. Beach house and construction bids will be let soon..
