NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />APRIL 4, 1984 <br />I. .Meeting was called to order by vice Chair Dahl. <br />II. Member present: Carlson, Dahl, Gunderman, Hogan, Olson, Rose, <br />Van Hatten, Council Rep. Janecek <br />Members absent: Johnson, Solberg <br />III. Minutes <br />A. Minutes of March 7, 1984 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Janecek said the Department Heads and Council had a team <br />building workshop which was very productive. Goals were <br />set for the City. .Dick Bury proposal was refused. $800 <br />was authorized.. for a feasibility study for lighted athletic <br />fields. <br />What is the reason for not approving the Bury proposal. <br />Janecek said mainly because of the impact on the surrounding <br />area.. <br />Anderson said the Council also approved 3 picnic shelters at <br />Freedom, Driftwood and Hidden Oaks. Would like to have them <br />installed this spring. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />Dahl said there was no meeting :this month. Last month was. <br />discussion on ruins and preserving things in the park. The <br />Historical Society wanted some way of preserving things of <br />Historical Society interest. <br />Dahl also made the comment that her term is up. <br />V. Land Sale - Hansen <br />Anderson stated Brenda_Kruger, City Planner was present. Anderson <br />said he does not recommend the sale. <br />Gordon Hedlund was present to give his views. He commented on <br />Maurice Anderson's letter. In this. case the City still owns the <br />area along side the well. Would do residents a favor by putting <br />the land: back on the tax roll and he also didn't like the statement <br />Anderson made about starting. a precident because each case should be <br />considered separately. <br />Van Hatten asked how far the well house is from the right of way. <br />Anderson said about 100 feet. The portion is heavily treed. <br />
