NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />MARCH 5, 1986 <br />I. The. meeting was called to order by Ken Johnson at 7:35pm. <br />II. .Members present: Blomquist (8:30), Eichers, Johnson, Olson, <br />Rose, Seward, Van Hatten, Council Representative <br />Williams <br />III. Minutes <br />MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY VAN HATTEN, TO APPROVE THE JANUARY 8, 1986 <br />MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Council Representative Williams said the Town Meeting is <br />scheduled for March 22nd. The City Hall construction is <br />underway. The Council looked at the contract with Damon Farber <br />and Associates for landscaping of City Hall and Veterans Park <br />but took no action. It was referred to the Park Board. <br />Eichers had asked if there was a decision made yet for a new <br />Park Board member. <br />Anderson and Williams responded no, there had been no applicants. <br />Eichers stated he knows someone who had applied. <br />Anderson said he would check into it. <br />B. Long. Lake Advisory Committee <br />Anderson said they went over the operational plan for the beach. <br />There was not a quorum. It was an informational meeting. <br />C. Report - Joint Park Board Meeting <br />Anderson said they talked about Long Lake, the Mounds View <br />bond issue defeat, snowmobilers, vandalism. Left that meeting <br />with the thought that another joint meeting could be held in <br />the summer and maybe again in the winter. <br />D. Letter from Tony Crea <br />Rose commented that he didn't expect anything positive to the. <br />Park Board's suggestion. <br />Johnson stated Crea put the idea to bed. <br />Van Hatten said he didn't understand Crea's reasoning. <br />Anderson said the access to a regional park is generally <br />vehicular. Crea put it quietly to sleep. <br />
