NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />JANUARY 7, 1987 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman <br />Johnson. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, Kalina, <br />Olson, Rose, Council Rep. Williams. Judy Goepel <br />(Centennial .Commission), Pat Synan (Beautification <br />Program) were also present Absent: Blomquist,Seward, <br />Van Hatten <br />III. Minutes of November 5, 1986 <br />MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY ROSE, TO APPROVE THE <br />NOVEMBER 5, 1986 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Williams stated the Council approved the Pike Lake <br />plan the Park Board had suggested res police <br />patrolling. They also favored the no glass in the <br />parks suggestion. <br />March 21st has been set as the preliminary date <br />for the Town Hall Meeting. The date may change <br />because new furniture for City Hall will not <br />arrive until April. <br />The Council will act on Board and .Commission <br />elections at the next Council meeting. <br />The construction of the new office building has <br />started., across from the golf course. <br />Carlson asked about all the well drilling rigs <br />he has seen is New Brighton. <br />Anderson said the PCA put in some monitoring-wells <br />to monitor the pollutants from .the arsenal. They <br />should be completed now. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />Carlson stated that Anderson gave a summary of the <br />1986 beach operations that was excellent. There were <br />few injuries, it ran smoothly, attendance was a <br />little low. When the fee was charged, youth <br />attendance dropped, but family attendance increased. <br />The fencing is 3/4 done. <br />
