NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />MAY, 4, 1994 <br />1. Call to order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chair Olson. <br />2. Members Present: Carlson, Eichers, Heinrich, Kenzie, Knuth, Ocel, Olson, <br />Sykes, Trevorrow <br />Absent: Council Rep Williams <br />3. Minutes of April 4, 1994 <br />The minutes of April 4, 1994 were approved as submitted. <br />4. Correspondence <br />a. Council Report <br />Anderson made a few comments in Council Rep. William's absence. The <br />Rice Creek Trail went before the Council and the main concern to look at <br />was the safety of the crossings. <br />The lights are up and mounted at the driving range. They will be <br />activated tomorrow. <br />Senior Center purchase agreement has been signed for the Rice Creek <br />Shopping Center. The key element in the development is the Senior <br />Center. The high rise will not be built without inclusion of the senior <br />center in the plan. <br />Olson heard that Fridley had to have a definite decision by June 1st. <br />Anderson said he thought the reasoning behind that was that a decision <br />would be made as far in advance as possible ahead of the elections. The <br />planning staff want to keep it moving but it is more complex now since <br />the plan is to demolish the existing facility. <br />The Park Board recommendation for 510,000 for play equipment at Pike <br />Lake went to the Council. The Council recommended that 515,000 be <br />given toward the project. <br />Trevorrow asked what was going in at Freedom Park. <br />Anderson said it was a bocce ball court. The seniors had requested one. <br />
