NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />JUNE 3, 1992 <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Carlson. <br />I1. Roll Call <br />Members present: Carlson, Eichers, Helgeson, Kalina, Kinzie, Ocel, Rose, <br />Trevorrow, Council Rep. Benke. Also present: Ken Johnson, Economic <br />Development Committee; Dave Childs, City Manager; Mary Burg, Golf <br />Course Superintendent; 3 representatives from Little Lakes Little League: <br />Len Pratt; Ken Cooper; Jack Pederson <br />Absent: Knuth, Olson <br />III. Minutes of May 6, 1992 <br />MOTION BY HELGESON, SECONDED BY TREVORROW, TO APPROVE THE <br />MAY 6, 1992 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Benke commented that the council accepted the annual financial <br />report. He also stated the Finance Department won an award for <br />excellence in financial reporting. <br />Hansen tennis courts are moving along. Development of trail in <br />Wexford Heights may happen in the fall. <br />There may be some development prospects for this summer. <br />Volunteer Recognition night was last night. Had about 150 people <br />turn out. <br />Johnson commented that the Economic Development Committee is <br />discussing signing all buildable property, cleanup of Jones Lake area <br />and Brighton Corp. Park (Opus & D & T Trucking area). The nursing <br />home wants to expand their facility. Economic Development <br />Committee is not enthused about that. We have been looking at multi- <br />modular housing. <br />Benke stated development opportunities are being looked at. Did a <br />tour in Champlin of 24 unit apartment building for totally handicapped <br />accessible -some units have companion living quarters. There is a <br />tremendous demand for that kind of housing. We are looking at the <br />site on Palmer Drive by Lunds. There is room for an additional building <br />close to shopping, transit, bank and Long Lake Park. <br />
