NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />MAY 6, 1992 <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chair Olson. <br />II. Members. present: Carlson, Eichers, Helgeson, Kinzie, Knuth, Olson, <br />Trevorrow, Council Rep. Benke <br />Absent: Kalina, Ocel, Rose <br />Ill. Minutes of April 1, 1992 <br />MOTION BY ETCHERS, SECONDED BY CARLSON, TO APPROVE THE APRIL <br />1, 1992 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Multi City Sr. Center Task Force <br />Olson reported that the Sr. Center enabling legislation didn't make it <br />through the legislature. The task force. continues to meet. Discussion <br />has centered around the building proper. Will be touring senior <br />centers; the next one is Crystal. The golf course site was withdrawn <br />as an option for the senior community center site. The Anoka County <br />site is the 1st choice, Rice Creek center is second choice. <br />B. Council Report <br />Benke stated the Council approved the tennis court relocation at <br />Hansen Park. <br />Bel Aire is the contractor. There were eleven bidder. Bel Aire's bid <br />was 593,000 the next was 595,000. All bidders were close in range. <br />Benke said he received a call from a resident regarding a street seal <br />coat project. The resident was concerned about the rough surface <br />because it was not good for biking. <br />Benke said he had also received a request to have a bike path go under <br />the bridge coming into Long Lake Park from the south side. <br />Carlson asked when the freeway exit will be finished. <br />Benke said the landscaping will be done about the middle of May. <br />Knuth asked if they are financing part of this. Benke responded yes. <br />Trevorrow asked if there is any kind of restriction for developers in <br />removing trees from a developing site, i.e. Wexford Heights. <br />
