The New Brighton Code of ordinances is hereby <br />amended by adding thereto Section 1050 which,":.shall read as follows <br />-...J <br />SECTION 1050J <br />SIDEWALKS, CONSTRUCTION STAND~, REPAI~S, <br />MAINTENANCE, FINANCING AND REGULATIONS FOR USE <br /> <br />}~ <br /> <br />.? <br /> <br />SECTION 1050:QCi>. Purpose. The purpose of Section 1050 is <br />as follows: <br /> <br />1. To provide for the ' construction Of.:lidewalks in the city. <br />2. To establish uniform standards and construction <br />specifications for public sidewalks in the city. <br />3. To establish guidelines for the establishment of a <br />skeletal sidewalk system based upon pUblic needs. <br />4. To establish methods of financing the cost of sidewalk <br />construction. <br />5. To provide for inspection, maintenance, repair and snow <br />removal for sidewalks. <br />6. To regulate the use of sidewalks by pedestrians and <br />non-motorized cycles. <br />7. To provide for enforcement of Section 1050. <br /> <br />SECTION 1050:05 Definitions. For the purpose of Section <br />1050 the fOllowing words and terms are hereby defined: <br /> <br />l. Sidewalk a concrete walk way constructed on public <br />street right-of-way adjacent to a public street designed <br />and intended primarily for pedestrians. <br />2. Pedestrian. A person traveling on foot. <br />3. Non-Motorized vehicles. Unicycles, bicycles, and <br />tricycles and other devices propelled byhuman.lpower. <br /> <br />SECTION 1050:l0. Permit Required. That hereafter all side- <br />walks which. :are constructed, reconstructed or ordered to be laid, <br />rebuilt or reconstructed, shall require a permit from the City <br />Council. Application for such permit shall be made on forms to be <br />provided by the City Clerk and shall sufficiently describe the <br />Icontemplated improvements, the contemplated date of beginning work <br />! and the length of time for completion of the same.
