"",", <br /> <br />~,~ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />318 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMEN"DXNG SECTION 240 (PERSONNEL POLICY) OF THE 1966 <br />ODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON BY" AMENDING <br />ECTION 240: 06, SUED. 3., SECTION 240: 16, SECTION 240: ,28, SECTION <br />240:40 AND SECTION 240:44 <br /> <br /> <br />The New Brighton Village Council does ordain: <br /> <br />Section 1. S'ection' 240:()G,Subdivt~,ion 3 of the New Brighton <br />illage,CQde. is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />,Il::''\,"''':i <br /> <br />Sectioh 240%06, Subdivision 3 <br /> <br />a. Relation$hip to Other Village, Personnel. Whenever <br />possible, and with due regard for merit and fitness, <br />the appointing authority shall avoid the appointment <br />of any person when such person is related to any elected <br />or appointed officer or employee of the village., <br />Appointment or assignments of persons related to any <br />elected or appointed officer or employee in, the same <br />department is prohibited. <br /> <br />b. Any employee of the Police Department or Maintenance <br />Departtnent shall establish, within one (1) year after <br />the date 0 f his or ig inal appointment and rema.in a <br />resident within a ten mile limit of the New Brighton <br />Municipal Building,803 5th Avenue N.W. Police officers <br />after two (2) years of full time service may reside <br />outside the ten (10) mile limit. <br /> <br />c. The ten (10) mile limit shall be determined by taking a <br />suitable map and drawing a circle having a ten (10) mile <br />radius ;from the New Brighton Municipal Building. This <br />map shall become part of this ordinance and remain in the <br />custody of the Village Clerk. Should any question arise <br />regarding residence within this limit, the appointing <br />authority shall be empowered to make the determination <br />as to whether or not there is compliance with this <br />section. <br /> <br />Section 2.
