AUGUST 2, 1989 PARK BOARD MINUTES
6
Olson said he though you would want to make a path around the
pond.
Anderson said you may want to do that for your homes but we
don't want it.
Rose asked about tennis courts.
Kalina stated the plan is tight but wondered if that means it
.can't be changed.
Anderson said we will see an increased number of people using
the park. Tt will need renovation of approximately $30,000-
$50,000. in play equipment, also lighting and possibly tennis
courts. The park dedication money will just take care of the
needs for the increased park use.
Seward asked if he had talked to people living on County Road E.
Olson said no.
Johnson said he is relatively sure the Park Board will recommend
squaring .off the park, without any interest in the park.
Anderson said anything additional to the park will be passive.
An access is needed to the park. No ball diamond or tennis
courts.
Seward asked Olson if an environmental impact study has been
done.
Olson said they are having someone else is do it. The results
are not yet available.
Johnson said we need to be honest with what we want.
Olson said he can't believe .you don't want the property with the
pond.
Anderson said it is serving your purposes so you should maintain
it. Not sure we would want the pond even if you gave it to us.
You are talking to a group who want parks.
Kalina asked if there could be less density in the houses. The
other issue is that you need the strip to be zoned B-3.
Olson said yes, the B-3 zoning is crucial.
Olson said there is a walkway planned for Silver Lake Road. He
was not sure but he thought it was for the west side.
Olson said a lot for single family. home will sell for about
$40,000-$60,000.
