August 3, 1988 Park Board Minutes 3 Johnson said Quality and Gametime look very similar. Like the way Quality is spread out. Anderson said Mexico Forge has a ~+oor layout. Anderson said the equipment will be installed in the fall of this year. Gametime and Miracle ~~ould be the quickest to deliver. VI. Old Business A. Pike Lake Trail Anderson said the Pike Lake Trail is scheduled for 1988 construction. The city is still negotiating with the church on the easement. We have an agreement with the location of the trail and the amount of money the city will give the church. Anderson suggested we redo the driveway between the church and the noise wall. The church trustees favor it. The driveway is estimated between $3,000-$4,000. Probably will be approved in September by the trustees. The City Council will need to approve, we are asking for about 600 feet which is a good amount. Anderson said we will have more highway right of way than we thought. We are running short on construction time this year. The Council would like to get it in this year but Long Lake Road construction will be done next summer and it may be better to wait and do the trail next year. If we do it this year, it will stop 50 feet short of Long Lake Road and we will have to come back next year to finish it. Seward feels it should be done this year. The sooner it is done, the less potential for problems. Johnson said he agrees that it should be done this year. Van Hatten asked if he understood that the price of the easement for the church is the price of the driveway. Anderson said yes. Seward said it should be done this year so the residents will know we are serious. Van Hatten asked if the you could walk on the path even if it is not complete. Anderson said yes. Olson said as long as the church is in agreement we might as well do it this fall. Anderson said we will still meet with the church and the residents. Ocel asked if residents in the immediate area are still opposed to the trail.
