May 4, 1988 Park Board Minutes
What are the legal rights of the City of New Brighton
to develop this trail?
The city either owns the property or can obtain
easements. We have the legal right to develop a trial.
What are our rights to maintain the privacy of our
lake?
You are here now and can go to the council meetings.
How will the bike trail impact our quality of lives. -
noise, lights, pollution and others?
Anderson said it is subjective - I don't think the
trail will make an impact.
Marilyn Rose, 1539 12th Terrace NW, asked about the
lights on the trail.
Anderson said there not be any lights.
Rose stated it was stated that way in the spring
newsletter.
Anderson said that is incorrect. There will not be
lights.
A resident asked what the trail would look like.
Anderson said it would be both a pedestrian and bike
trail. It would be a 10 foot bituminous path, no wider
with a 2 foot shoulder and whatever we need for
plantings. We do not plan to mow to the lake, maybe
about 3 feet on either side of the path for
maintenance.
A resident asked if there would be bushes next to the
wall.
Anderson said we could do that if that is the consensus
of the Park Board, residents and Council.
Johnson asked if there is room?
Anderson said some areas are very narrow.
