April 6, 1988 Park Board Minutes ~
A resident commented that if someone with a trailer
comes through he can launch even if there is no space..
Simons said Anderson will address that when he talks
about the operating plan.
A resident asked if there are any other parks that have
gate attendants.
Simons said no. There will only be 15 boats allowed to
be launched and the only way we could see to control
this was to have an attendant on the site.
A resident asked. if this regulation of the number. of
boats on a lake had been tried without an attendant and
it didn't work so that is why you are going to have an
attendant on duty.
Simons said yes. Could have impounding too but the.
gate attendant method was chosen.
Resident Gary Stang, 1219 Mississippi asked if there is
any other park which operates this way.
Simons responded no.
Resident, Pat Cobb, 1600 19th Terrace said there. are 30
car spaces but only 15 were identified in .the master
plan for cars with boats that can be carried in on top
their car.
Simons said both shoreline fisherman and people with.
cartop boats will be using the 30 spaces.
Cobb .asked how they will be monitored.
Simons said by the gate guard or by using signing if
that is desired.
Cobb said everything else in the master plan agrees but
not that.
Simons said all the master plans for Ramsey County are
the same. Usually they monitor themselves. The. high
powered boats are the problem.
Cobb said in the concept plan there was never fishing
and car top in the same parking area.
Simons said they could be separated if someone feels it
is necessary.
Cobb said the parking is separated on the other lot,
the same thing could be done on this lot.
