' April 6, 1988-Park Board Minutes 9
Resident Lee Fabian, 1721 14th Ave. NW, asked questions
relating to the hours.
Anderson said he would clarify and make distinctions
between when the gate opens and whe~4 we have staff
present.
Cobb brought up his question again about holding-the
number of cartop boats to 15.
Anderson said he doesn't feel it is necessary but he
has no objection to it.
Cobb said it is good to have it in the records for
future reference.
Johnson said we could keep track of how many park there
the first year to find out if it is necessary to
monitor.
Jerry Bensing asked if the fishing docks were still
there.
Simons said they will be replaced.
Anderson said the docks are gone. They have been
destroyed by the ice. They haven't been there for
about two years.
Van Hatten said counting the water craft is a good
idea.
Anderson said that was the intention but it is not in
writing.
Arnold Mosko, resident at 1433 Mississippi, said he
goes down to the boat launch every evening and notices
there are people on air mattresses in the same area
that people are launching their high powered boats. It
is dangerous. Have told police to take care of it and
lifeguards but they say it is not their job.
Anderson said it will be hard to control this year
because the existing launch will be open but there will
not be anyone there to monitor.
Jerry Bensing suggested limiting the skiing to the area
just north of the launch.
Simons said the people on air mattresses are the ones
in violation. In 1989 the gate guard can monitor.
Brandt asked if it is signed for no swimming.
