January 6, 1988 Park Board Minutes .Page 8
Schilling said in the spring when the fishing is big,
cars line up on the street.
Carlson said if you call the Police, they could have that
taken care of right away.
Schilling said the Police have been good about taking
care of the problem.
Carlson said he would like to see the access in as soon
as possible to get people in safely and help the.
neighborhood out.
a
Johnson asked Schilling if he just .wanted the Park Board
to be aware of this situation so that they will stay on
top of it?
Simons said we may be able to apply some solutions to the
problem.
Johnson said he never thought of using landscaping
buffers.
Simons said he wants to do something attractive and low
maintenance.
Van Hatten asked about the fence that was there.
Schilling-said there is a 60 x 60 parcel of land. The
first homeowner got tire of the land-being used as a
dumping area so a fence was put up. The city hasn't done
anything to clean up the area. Have asked for trash cans
and they will not put any out so I did. The neighbors
would like to see the bridge as close to the road as
possible (about 30 feet from the. tracks, north side of
the street and south side of the tracks.)
Simons said we have to be 50 feet from the tracks.
Simons said ask you go toward the creek there is a ditch.
We could start to fill it and keep trash from the area.
Simons said when we cross the creek there has to be 50
feet under the tracks; there has to be room for the 2
paths to meet. May have a diagonal crossing at the
creek. Will have to do some work at the end of the cul-
de-sac.
Carlson asked if Schilling could get some help with
keeping the area clean; put out trash cans, etc.
