January 6, 1988. .Park Board Minutes Page 9
Simons said it would be the.<county's responsibility.
Simons said perhaps the lifeguards could help with the
cleanup too by cleaning up the shoreline.
Carlson said we should be helping Schilling with the.
clean up.
Johnson said we should take it over entirely.
Simons said once the area is clean, it will help others
to keep it that way.
Johnson said fishermen are the main users in that area.
Schilling said the fishermen are .the cleanest.
Simons said it is good to keep the lines of communication
open.
Schilling said he would like to see the bridge about 3
feet wide, it doesn't need to be 10 feet wide. Don't
want snowmobiles, etc. on the walk bridge.
Carlson said it would be wide but use posts for barriers.
It may be necessary to get back there with an emergency
-vehicle.
Kalina asked what the time frame is for the bridge.
Simons,`said it will be this year if the money is
available. We are bidding the bituminous path now. Have
money for the bridge but maybe not for the path.
Simons said his guess is the bridge will cost about
$80,000.
Anderson said we should be able to drive a Cushman on the
bridge.
Simons said getting the bridge in is a fairly easy
contract. Could do it rather quickly. It could be in by
the fall if we have the money.
Schilling asked about the winter maintenance/snow
removal.
Simons said if it is decided to do snow removal in the
park, the county would do it.
