<br /> <br /> <br /> Page 7 - June 12, 2007 New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br /> 5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br /> Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements, and Updates Commission liaison <br /> City Manager, Dean Lotter reported that there was a successful meeting with the PCA a orts Announcements <br /> recently and will update the Council at a Work Session in July. He added that he and Mayor and Updates <br /> would be at the conference for the League of Minnesota Cities in Duluth. <br /> <br /> Council Member Gina Bauman - Public Safety Commission <br /> Council Member Bauman reported the Public Safety Commission meeting will be held on <br /> Wednesday, June 27th. <br /> <br /> Council Member Mary Burg- Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br /> Council Member Burg reported that the New Brighton has been recognized as a Tree City. <br /> The summer playground program is a huge success and fall registration will begin soon. She <br /> complimented the Parks and Recreation Department on the receiving of the 2007 Award of <br /> Excellency for its Strategic Planning. The Family Service Center will be closed during the <br /> week of July 1St thru July 7th for cleaning and repairs. <br /> <br /> Council Member Sharon Doffintr - Planning Commission <br /> Council Member Doffing stated that she would have advocated more strongly to have the <br /> Post Office's retail site remain in the Northwest Quadrant, specifically on the East side, now <br /> that she knows the site does not need to be a stand-alone property. She does believe that this <br /> is a good compromise and will be a benefit to the community. She added that she would be <br /> willing to accept the Mayor's request that she attend the Urban Partnership Agreement <br /> Stakeholders Briefing that may generate $1 billion dollars in Federal funds to alleviate traffic <br /> congestion in Minnesota on Thursday. Lotter stated that he would request that Public Works <br /> Director, Grant Wyffels, also attend. <br /> <br /> Council Member Ann Hoffman - Economic Development Commission <br /> Council Member Hoffman reported that she attended the groundbreaking ceremony for <br /> Brighton Village on June 25tH <br /> <br /> Mayor Larson <br /> Mayor Larson stated that he attended the groundbreaking ceremony at Brighton Village. It <br /> was well attended by residents and businesses in the area. <br /> <br /> Adiournment <br /> Motion by Council Member Hoffman seconded by Council Member Bauman to <br /> adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> 5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> Adiournment <br /> <br /> Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
