6 <br />Mr. Dale Reed, 1432 18th Street NW, supported the ordinance <br />as drafted. <br />Mr. Mel Williams, 1943 15th Avenue NW, spoke in favor of the <br />866 foot lake level as proposed, and the orinance as proposed. <br />Mr. Ken Simons, Ramsey County Open Space Landscape Architect, <br />made a brief presentation outlining the design of the boat <br />access area. <br />Mr. Larry Johnson, 1796 19A Street, spoke against the 866 <br />foot requirement and in favor of inclusion of a boat ramp. <br />Mr. Mark Beisswenger` 12 Avenue NW, spoke s -rding the proposed <br />time zones and stated that he felt more time should be allotted <br />on weekends for power boat use. <br />After i*lengthy discussion there was a moti,,a by Blomcuist, <br />seconded by Benke to approve the proposed boat access design concept <br />and to forward to Metropolitan Council for inclusion in the Long Lake <br />Concept Plan approval. <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Janecek to defer action <br />on the proposed boat ramp. <br />2 ayes - 3 nayes (Benke, Blomquist,'Senden) - failed <br />Vote on the main motion. <br />3 ayes - 2 nayes (Werdouschegg, Janecek) - carried <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to waive the reading and <br />hold a first reading of AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING SURFACE USE OF <br />LONG LAKE. <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Janecek to amend the motion in <br />the following manner: <br />In section 19-35 to change the wording to read, "Watercraft <br />producing a wake shall only be operated in a counter-clockwise <br />direction." <br />In section 19-38, to change the word "thereafter" to "therein". <br />In Section 2, to place_a period after the word "publication" <br />and delete the remaining portion of the paragraph- <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to-separate the question. <br />Vote to separate the question. <br />5 ayes 0 nayes - carried <br />Vote on section 19-35 regarding water craft direction. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />Vote on section 19-38 as amended. <br />5 ayes - 0' nayes - carried
