<br />City of New Brighton <br />July 10, 1979 <br />Pat O'Brien, 780.10th Avenue NW, questioned whether alternate <br />number 1 had an adequate sight distance from the Long Lake <br />Road - 694 interchange. <br />Mike O'Brien, 780 10th Avenue_NW, stated he was in favor <br />of alternate number 1. <br />Jim Doherty, 75110th Avenue NW, asked whether it was the <br />Council's intention to improve 11th Avenue NW also. <br />The Mayor responded that the llth Avenue portion was also <br />being considered at this meeting. <br />Sue Doherty, 751 10th Avenue NW,.stated she was in favor of <br />alternate number 1. <br />Paul Holmes, 763 9th Avenue NW, stated he was in favor of <br />alternate number 1. He had objections to alternatives number <br />2, number 3, and number 4. <br />Leonard Juran, 803 8th Avenue NW, stated he was opposed to <br />alternatives number 3 and number.4. He made note of a petition <br />submitted in regard to this proposed improvement. <br />1 <br />Vern Lunzer, 778 8th Avenue NW, stated he was opposed to <br />alternate number 4. <br />A1.Logelin, 933 11th Avenue NW, stated he was in-favor of <br />alternate number 3. <br />Gordon Hedlund, 1255 Pike Lake Drive, affected property owner, <br />stated the present water table in this area is very high. He <br />requested assurance that construction would lower the water table <br />to permit development using normal construction methods. <br />Chet Burkheimer, 909 10th Street NW, stated access at the 10th <br />Street location for alternate number 3 was through his property. <br />He stated the soils in the area were very poor quality. He <br />expressed opposition to alternate number 3 and number 4 but <br />stated an access in the area was needed. <br />Warren Erickson, 860 8th Avenue NW, spoke in opposition to <br />alternatives number 2, number 3, and number 4. He stated <br />he supported alternate number 1 but would like to have the <br />plans modified to provide for curves instead of right angle corners. <br />William Gieseking, 815 8th Avenue NW, stated he was opposed <br />to alternate number 4. - <br /> <br />Vince Urgo, 960 11th Avenue NW-, spoke in favor of alternate <br />number 3. <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to close the hearing. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />-2-
