Laity ui vew -Liyaton <br />July 10, 1979 <br />Thomas Brickner.and Richard Ernst, representing the R.C.E. <br />Corporation, applicants, were present to answer questions. <br />The Director of Community Development reviewed the staff <br />report. Mayor Senden questioned the parking availability <br />for the proposed park and the maintenance of the privately <br />owned portions of the.open spaces. <br />Councilman Werdouschegg expressed concern with the lot <br />sizes, lack of imagination of the building design, the <br />height of the condominium and proposed parking in front <br />of the condominium. <br />Councilperson Janecek questioned whether the duplexes could <br />be clustered to allow more open space. <br />Richard Ernst responded that an attempt to cluster 16 units <br />is under consideration. <br />Councilman Werdouschegg suggested design changes to <br />the duplexes on Mississippi Street side-so as, to provide <br />access from proposed 27th Avenue. <br />Bill Sherman, 2163 29th Avenue NW expressed the following <br />concerns: <br />1. The proposed 4.8 acre size of the park and the changes <br />from the previous plans. <br />2. He questioned the applicants proposed drainage plan. <br />3. Proposed density of the development and how that <br />effects the existing density in the area. <br />4. The impact of additional duplexes along Mississippi <br />Street. <br />5. Proposed housing types and designs. <br />However, he approved the PRD concept. <br />Jack Schable, 2113 29th Avenue NW, stated he had the same <br />concerns regarding density and the size of the public park <br />but that he personally favored the project. <br />Judy Linse, 2145 29th Avenue, stated she also was concerned <br />for the somewhat high density proposed. She was in opposition <br />toany parking on 29th Avenue and that she was in favor of <br />the overall proposal. <br />Ardel Nystrom, 2115 29th Avenue, stated she concurred with <br />the-three previous speakers. <br />Motion-by Blomquist, seconded by Senden to close the hearing <br />for R-103, R-107, R-109, PRD #27, VN-206, PL-118. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes motion carried <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to waive the reading <br />hold the first reading, of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE NEW BRIGHTON <br />I <br />-4-
