Council Proceedings City of New Brighton March 8, 1977 Assistant City Attorney stated hearing was properly called. The City Planner reviewed the planning report and Planning Commission recommendations. Councilman Hardt inquired as to the reason for the Planning Commission recommending erosion control measures. The Planner stated that this was recommended because of the proximity of the construction to the slope area on Rush Lake. The Planner further stated that the slope easement was to protect the slope. Councilman Werdouschegg inquired as to whether the contour lines were existing or proposed. The Planner responded that they were both. Mr. Wayne Gonella, applicant,was present. He stated it was his intent to leave the slope in its present condition. Councilman Hardt asked whether Mr. Gonella was willing to negotiate a slope easement with the City. Mr. Gonella stated he would be willing to discuss such easement. NC -16 8:26 to 8:47 Councilman Werdouschegg asked why the display area showed had no windows. Mr. Gonella stated that their operation required no windows and that energy would be saved in not having windows. Councilman Werdouschegg asked where the building would be located relative to the center of the proposed upgrading of Old Hwy 8. The Planner responded that at its closest point, the building would be 102 feet from the center line of Old Hwy 8 Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to close hearing. Close 4 ayes- 0 nayes- carried Hearing Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to direct administration to prepare resolution approving NC -16, such resolution to make findings of fact and to have conditions as found in the Planning Commission recommendations relative to NC -16 as contained in the Planning Commission minutes of February 15, 1977 4 ayes - 0 nayes- carried 5
