Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />March 8, 1977 <br />Assistant City Attorney stated hearing was properly <br />called. <br />The City Planner reviewed the planning report and <br />Planning Commission recommendations. <br />Councilman Hardt inquired as to the reason for the <br />Planning Commission recommending erosion control <br />measures. <br />The Planner stated that this was recommended because <br />of the proximity of the construction to the slope area <br />on Rush Lake. The Planner further stated that the slope <br />easement was to protect the slope. <br />Councilman Werdouschegg inquired as to whether the contour <br />lines were existing or proposed. <br />The Planner responded that they were both. <br />Mr. Wayne Gonella, applicant,was present. <br />He stated it was his intent to leave the slope in <br />its present condition. <br />Councilman Hardt asked whether Mr. Gonella was willing <br />to negotiate a slope easement with the City. <br />Mr. Gonella stated he would be willing to discuss such <br />easement. <br />NC -16 <br />8:26 to <br />8:47 <br />Councilman Werdouschegg asked why the display area showed had <br />no windows. <br />Mr. Gonella stated that their operation required no <br />windows and that energy would be saved in not having <br />windows. <br />Councilman Werdouschegg asked where the building would be <br />located relative to the center of the proposed upgrading <br />of Old Hwy 8. <br />The Planner responded that at its closest point, the <br />building would be 102 feet from the center line of <br />Old Hwy 8 <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to close hearing. Close <br />4 ayes- 0 nayes- carried Hearing <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to direct administration <br />to prepare resolution approving NC -16, such resolution to <br />make findings of fact and to have conditions as found in the <br />Planning Commission recommendations relative to NC -16 as <br />contained in the Planning Commission minutes of February 15, 1977 <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />5 <br />
