-4 -
Also, we had a starter discussion about the area over by County Road E2 and Bell
Pole that goes over to 51h Street and then over to the Highway to 35W. It is a street
that is about '/ mile long. Currently it does not have a sidewalk there of any type.
We discussed whether there is a need to put a sidewalk in. The area has many
different uses and is becoming more popular as Main Street Village expands.
More discussion will follow in the future.
We appreciate the input residents made at the neighborhood meetings relating to
the trails system.
VII. Announcements
A. Chair Updates
Budzynski read the press release regarding the reward offered for information
related to vandalism incidents that took place on the south side of the city. At least
a dozen incidents of vandalism were reported.
B. Department Happenings
Jason West presented the power point for the Department Happenings for
February.
• Trevorrow asked if the Commission could be updated at the next meeting on the
prairie grass areas at Creekview and Hansen Parks. Are there any burns planned
and do we still have a contract with Prairie Restoration? Creekview has been let
go, but if they could do a burn in there, it would really help.
Samuelson asked about whether there has been an update on the possibility of
combining the two Pike Lake fields to make one adult field. West stated Pat
Tuma has had dialog with Nick Temali regarding this issue.
Ron Meyer informed seniors that if they want to be on the Exchange Newsletter
mailing list, they can call or stop in at the Family Service Center. There is a new
area of the newsletter called "Conversation Corner". We have had a lot of good
comments regarding this. Meyer stated in the next newsletter will be an interview
with a 104 'h year old resident. This woman was born when Teddy Roosevelt was
president. She has lived through 18 presidents. The 23`d Annual Senior Prom is
May 6d'. Those who attend will receive a corsage and a complimentary picture.
For S10 you get 3 hours of Dick Macko music and a meal. Tickets go on sale
April 2nd
VIII. Adjourn
MOTION BY NORTON, SECONDED BY SAMUELSON, TO ADJOURN AT
7:30 P.M. MOTION CARRIED.
