Joy Jayatam of Ryan Companies, US Inc. on behalf of Transoma Medical requests <br />consideration of a Zoning Code Amendment impacting Section 6-750 (4) (1) <br />concerning allowable height of wall mounted sign. Report No. 08-161. <br />City Planner, Janice Gundlach explained that the purpose ofthe amendment was to allow wall mounted <br />signs on the Transoma Medical Building. hr July 2007 the council adopted a new zoning district, the <br />Northwest Quadrant Zoning Code. It was explained that amendments are likely in the new zoning <br />district. The Planning commission held a Public Hearing, there was no public comment. <br />Councilmember Phillips suggested a change to the amendment limiting the placement of a sign too close <br />to the top of a building. <br />•Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to adopt the <br />zoning code amendment with change as suggested. <br />4 Ayes — 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />4. Presentation of Engineer's Report for City Project 07-5, NWQ Dump Closure. <br />Consideration to order project and authorize preparation of Plans and Specifications. <br />Report No. 08-162. <br />Director of Public Works Grant Wyffels introduced Dan Fetter representing Barr Engineering. Mr. <br />Fetter presented an overview of the project, the goal being to consolidate the dump and create engineered <br />barriers to prevent tuft= developers from being in contact with petroleum impacts. The project area was <br />displayed, 2/3 of the area involves the Old Miller Dump. Additionally two other known petroleum sites <br />were identified in the presentation. The scope of the project was explained, work is expected to begin in <br />late stmrmer 2008, with an expected completion in 2009. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Phillips to adopt the attached <br />resolution for the following: 1) Ordering the improvements; and 2) Authorizing the <br />preparation of the plans and specifications for City Project 07-5, Northwest Quadrant Dump <br />Closure Plan with following 2 alternates added: <br />The plans shall include an alternate bid to remove dump materials 200 feet from Block <br />• The plans shall include an alternate bid to not stockpile dump material on Block E and haul the <br />material offsite. <br />4 Ayes —0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />3.
