Page 7of8 <br />GameTime grant applications, and if awarded, purchase playground equipment & ground <br />materials for up to two parks in New Brighton matching with Park Dedication fees. <br />• 5 Ayes, 0 Nays; Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Re its Announcements and U ates: <br />City Manauer-Dean Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter reported the Council will continue in a work session following the Council meeting. <br />Union negotiations are underway with the Teamsters, as well as meeting with LE LS union related to <br />insurance benefits. <br />Council Member Mary Bu -m — Economic Development Commission <br />The Economic Development Commission will meet Thursday November 6' <br />Council Member David ng! - P Commission <br />Councilmember Phillips reminded the community to vote November 0. The Planning Commission <br />will be looking at an overlay district ordinance in the Palmer Drive area at the November meeting. <br />Council Member Sharon Doffing - Public Safety Commission <br />Councilmember Doffing reported the annual Fire Department open house was well attended. Public <br />Safety Commission will meet October 29, special speaker will be Coleen Wambacln; principal of <br />Irondale High School. The retirement of Firefighter Jim Jeffery was announced. <br />Council Member Gina Bauman — Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br />The Holiday Boutique is currently open at the Family Service Center through November 1. The <br />Pioneer Press and Bulletin recently featured the new bike lane on Long Lake Rd, special thanks was <br />expressed to the Trails Committee for their work on the project. The driving range will close this <br />week. An indoor soccer- clinic will begin November 7, at Highview Middle School. The grand <br />opening at the Fairview Clinic was very well attended. <br />Manor Larson <br />Mayor Larson accompanied the Royal Family in two recent parades in Anoka <br />The Community Partners with Youth fundraiser was attended at the Mermaid.
