. Zisla asked if off street parking, driving and loading areas also need to be paved or if they <br />could be made of gravel. Gundlach stated that gravel drives are allowed as long as a <br />vehicle is not parked on it. Zisla replied that the first sentence should be kept in. <br />O'Brien stated that it should state all off street driving and loading areas should be paved <br />and then define a paved surface. Danger asked if there is a time frame for residents to <br />comply with the ordinance. Gundlach replied that the requirements are not changing only <br />being clarified in the code. She added the City works on a complaint driven system and <br />while there a number of residences that do not meet these requirements they are <br />addressed if and when a compliant is received. The ordinance will also be published <br />through the local paper. O'Brien questioned why crushed rock is not an approved <br />surface. Gundlach replied that has been requirement in the code for quite some time and <br />this bigger policy question could be addressed at the Council's direction. <br />Motion by Baker, second by O'Brien to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />5 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION APPROVED. <br />Motion by O'Brien, second by Howard to ADOPT THE ATTACHED ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ZONING CODE SECTION 11-020 (1) WITH THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: <br />1. The first sentence is to remain in the new ordinance and include parking is <br />allowed on a paved surface rather a bituminous surface. <br />2. The second sentence is to be eliminated. <br />0 5 ayes, 0 nays.
