• <br />• <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />09 - <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AWARD FROM 200$ ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM OF <br />THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton values a sense of safety and security throughout our community; <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the Assistance to Firefighters Program is to protect the health and safety of <br />the public and firefighting personnel against fire and fire -related hazards; <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety Fire Division identified the need for pulse oximeters with <br />carboxyhemoglobin sensors to continue its existing mission; <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety has been awarded a grant to purchase these items; <br />WHEREAS, the grant was not included in the 2008 budgets that were adopted December 11, 2007; <br />WHEREAS, the 2008 General Fund budget should be amended to increase the "Federal Grants" <br />account by $7,200 and the "Fire Small Equipment" account by $7,200; <br />WHEREAS, a Resolution is required for participation and receipt of funds: <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THE CITY MANAGER IS AUTHORIZED TO ACCEPT THE AWARD FROM <br />THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. <br />Adopted this 13'x' day of January, 2009 <br />ATTEST: <br />Daniel A.
