BASIC SERVICES <br />The following Basic Services pertain only to the Construction Scope described earlier. <br />1. Design Services <br />a. Review of the existing building drawings provided by the Client_ <br />b. Field verify the existing building dimensions and locate key roof penetrations, such as <br />roof drains. This will be done once all snow and ice has melted off of the roof, which <br />normally occurs in mid -late April. <br />c. Verification of existing conditions at key detail locations using exploratory test openings. <br />d. Observe and evaluate the following to provide a basis for the development of reroofing <br />design: <br />• Feasibility of salvaging existing insulation. <br />■ Moisture tests of existing insulation at test openings. <br />■ Interior verification of decking. <br />■ Code considerations updated (i.e., vapor barrier and roof r -value). <br />• Reusing existing wood blocking. <br />e. Analysis of the existing roof drainage and add tapered insulation as necessary. <br />f. identify obsolete items and design deck infill if desired. <br />2. Construction Documents <br />a. Drawings will be produced which will include a general roof plan and key roof details. A <br />project manual will be prepared for this project including information concerning <br />insurance, performance bond, construction schedule, submittals, technical information, <br />and other project related documents. <br />3. Bid Process <br />a. We will work with you to develop an ad for bid, including dates, times, and places. To <br />advertise the project in the Construction Bulletin, your local paper, and/or websites based <br />on your advertisement requirements. The cost to advertise in the Construction Bulletin is <br />typically $100 — $150 per week; fees for local papers and websites vary. <br />b. We will send construction documents to the Minneapolis and St. Paul Builders' <br />Exchanges, as well as Reed's and McGraw Hill Construction plan rooms, if desired. <br />c. We will assist in issuing the project for bid. We will consult with you concerning the <br />more qualified contractors to notify regarding the availability of this project to bid, and <br />will then contact those contractors. <br />d. In late May or early dune, a pre-bid conference will be held one to two weeks prior to the <br />bid opening to discuss the scope of work with the contractors at the project site. <br />
