<br />City of New Brighton <br />February 22, 1983 <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus extended a special thanks to the <br />League of Women Voters for their help on various <br />City advisory boards, and help with the Citizen <br />Survey, and for all other areas of help that the <br />League has given to the City. <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed his report and the <br />bid tabulations in regard to the Iron Removal <br />Facilities for the two new deep wells. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Harcus to award <br />the construction contract for the Iron Removal <br />Facilities to the low bidder, Barbarossa and Sons, <br />in the amount of $1,018,800. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to accept <br />a petition, and adopt a RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE <br />PETITION AND ORDERING AN ENGINEERING FEASIBILITY <br />STUDY FOR PROVIDING STREET AND UTILITIES TO SERVE <br />SILVER OAKS 6th ADDITION. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt, to waive <br />the reading, hold the second reading, adopt and <br />order publication of an ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS <br />11 and 15, OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO LICENSE <br />FEES, and to waive the reading and adopt a RESOLU- <br />TION SETTING LICENSE FEES AS AUTHORIZED BY CHAPT- <br />ERS 11 and 15 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to author- <br />ize the Mayor and City Manager to execute the <br />purchase agreement with Mr. John Schiller subject <br />to the fOllowing amendment to the agreement: <br />1. That the amount of assessments be stated <br />correctly. <br />2. That the requirement for provision of a <br />soil test be removed and amended by giving <br />the buyer the right to enter the property <br />to conduct soil tests. <br />3.
