<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />December 8, 1981 <br /> <br />the potential for the location of the <br />Minnesota Transportation Museum on the <br />west side of Old Highway #8 in the area <br />immediately adjacent to the city's Long <br />Lake property and Ramsey county's open <br />space property. <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Parsons of Parsons Equipment Company <br />was present to discuss the resource recovery <br />operation that Mr. Bury has been considering. <br />Mr. Parsons showed a short slide show reviewing <br />the operations of similar plants in other <br />locations. <br /> <br />Mr. Bury stated that all the discussions regarding <br />relocation of the asphalt plant and potential for <br />the resource recovery plant were only in the <br />conceptual stage. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Graham, President, Minnesota Transportation <br />Museum, stated that the Transportation Museum was <br />in need of a new home, and that they.have been in <br />contact with the Ramsey County and the New Brighton <br />Historical Societies. Mr. Graham also stated that <br />they need approximately 3-4 acres of land for <br />their operation and that he thought that the <br />relationship between the park property and the <br />Transportation Museum would be compatible. <br />Mr. Graham finally stated that in the consideration <br />of the development district the Transportation <br />Museum is interested and if possible would like <br />to be included. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Miller stated that he was interested in <br />coming up with a good development plan that <br />would be best for the individual property owners <br />as well as for the City of New Brighton. Mr. <br />Miller also stated that he has enjoyed working <br />with the City and that he was in full support <br />of the development district process. <br /> <br />Mr. Bury indicated that he had discussed the <br />development district possibilities with Texgas <br />and Mark Beisswenger and both had indicated <br />favorable support. <br /> <br />Mr. Gayle Bromander, member of the New Brighton <br />Historical Society and member of both the <br />Hinnesota Transportation Museum and the <br />Ramsey County Historical Society, stated <br />that he thinks that the possibility of <br />locating the Minnesota Transportation <br />Museum in this area would be a great opportunity <br />for the City of New Brighton and that the <br /> <br />-2- <br />
