The City of New Brighton currently has a full-time IT Administrator (1) and IT Technician(1) that service and maintain twenty-two servers, roughly 81 software hardware systems, back-up systems, network switches, file servers, and other operating systems that are used individually or by respective departments on a daily basis. The IT Department also supports and maintains the City's 137 computers and 165 IP phones that are located throughout our various facilities. The IT Department's primary responsibility is the maintaining of the City's Hub Room which is the nerve center of the City information technology operation. All PRI phone lines, TI Data, State of Minnesota connections, VPN modems, and network fiber are maintained in this room. Information data from this room is then distributed to all City owned buildings through the IP phone system, data, and access to the various file servers. The following is a list of the resources that are provided through the City's twenty-two servers: • Microsoft Outlook Security Exchange Server • Blackberry Server • CLASS (FSC Program Registration) • CLASS Payment Processor (On-line FSC Payments) • Web Redirect Server (City's Domain Name) • Primary Domain Controller • Secondary Domain Controller • Lasefiche Electronic Document Server • File Server/Back-up System Storage • IP Phone Processor/Server (2) • World Wide Web Firewall • VPN Server (Network Connection between City Hall and the Golf Course) • Building Security Server (Keyless Entry and Door Security System) • Back-up Storage Server • Police Scheduling and Evidence Manager Server • SharePoint Server • GIS -Online Mapping Server • Intranet Server • DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol -Addressing for Computers) • DNS (Domain Naming System -Converts Numbers to Letters) • Active Directory Server (Assigns computer rights to individual users) • Printer Spoolers (2) (Sends print commands to printers) • PGAC Server (Server that retains data from the City's Water Treatment Plant) • PRI Gateways (2) (Analog phone lines to the City's IP phone system) The IT Department is responsible for all audio-visual services that are provided to New Brighton residents. This includes the televising and rebroadcasting of government related meetings and information shows that are on channel 16. These responsibilities also include posting of previous City meetings on the City's website for web streaming and maintaining the City's FTP site. The IT Department has also outsourced its audio-visual services to the City of Arden Hills for the past two years. This agreement includes the broadcasting of Arden Hills City Council, Planning, and other special meetings. 3
