The City of New Brighton currently has a full-time IT Administrator (1) and IT Technician(1) <br />that service and maintain twenty-two servers, roughly 81 software hardware systems, back-up <br />systems, network switches, file servers, and other operating systems that are used individually or <br />by respective departments on a daily basis. The IT Department also supports and maintains the <br />City's 137 computers and 165 IP phones that are located throughout our various facilities. <br />The IT Department's primary responsibility is the maintaining of the City's Hub Room which is <br />the nerve center of the City information technology operation. All PRI phone lines, TI Data, <br />State of Minnesota connections, VPN modems, and network fiber are maintained in this room. <br />Information data from this room is then distributed to all City owned buildings through the IP <br />phone system, data, and access to the various file servers. <br />The following is a list of the resources that are provided through the City's twenty-two servers: <br />• Microsoft Outlook Security Exchange Server <br />• Blackberry Server <br />• CLASS (FSC Program Registration) <br />• CLASS Payment Processor (On-line FSC Payments) <br />• Web Redirect Server (City's Domain Name) <br />• Primary Domain Controller <br />• Secondary Domain Controller <br />• Lasefiche Electronic Document Server <br />• File Server/Back-up System Storage <br />• IP Phone Processor/Server (2) <br />• World Wide Web Firewall <br />• VPN Server (Network Connection between City Hall and the Golf Course) <br />• Building Security Server (Keyless Entry and Door Security System) <br />• Back-up Storage Server <br />• Police Scheduling and Evidence Manager Server <br />• SharePoint Server <br />• GIS -Online Mapping Server <br />• Intranet Server <br />• DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol -Addressing for Computers) <br />• DNS (Domain Naming System -Converts Numbers to Letters) <br />• Active Directory Server (Assigns computer rights to individual users) <br />• Printer Spoolers (2) (Sends print commands to printers) <br />• PGAC Server (Server that retains data from the City's Water Treatment Plant) <br />• PRI Gateways (2) (Analog phone lines to the City's IP phone system) <br />The IT Department is responsible for all audio-visual services that are provided to New Brighton <br />residents. This includes the televising and rebroadcasting of government related meetings and <br />information shows that are on channel 16. These responsibilities also include posting of <br />previous City meetings on the City's website for web streaming and maintaining the City's FTP <br />site. The IT Department has also outsourced its audio-visual services to the City of Arden Hills <br />for the past two years. This agreement includes the broadcasting of Arden Hills City Council, <br />Planning, and other special meetings. <br />3 <br />
