<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />J ':',~ ,;:,:";.' <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />February 25, 1982 <br /> <br />Mr. Roger columbo, 820 Redwood Lane, stated <br />that he could only reiterate the concerns of <br />his neighbors, that he was in favor of the <br />project and that he just hoped that it would <br />work and solve their water problems for many years. <br /> <br />Harold Anderson, 737 Forest Dale Road, indicated <br />that last year when the driveways were removed <br />and temporarily replaced a portion of his remaining <br />concrete slab was cracked during the construction. <br /> <br />The city Engineer stated that if the damage were <br />in fact caused by the contractors doing the work <br />the contractor would be responsible. <br /> <br />Mrs. Christiansen asked if the width of the road <br />had been specified in the project. <br /> <br />The City Engineer stated that they will try to <br />obtain a standard width road 32 feet back-of- <br />curb to back-of-curb. <br /> <br />Gene Stokes asked if the existing base of the road <br />were adequate so as to justify the overlay project. <br /> <br />The City Engineer stated that the road had been <br />tested and found to be adequate for overlay purposes. <br /> <br />Lyle Hopkins, 760 Forestdale Road, asked how the <br />road would be widened. <br /> <br />The City Engineer replied that the road would be <br />centered on the existing road and that they <br />would hope to obtain a width of 32 feet but regardless <br />of the width they obtain it would be a uniform width <br />the entire roadway length. <br /> <br />Lyle Hopkins stated that it was his opinion that the <br />road widening improvements are a result of the increased <br />traffic from development around this area particularly <br />from Innsbruck East and the United Theological Seminary <br />developments. <br /> <br />Harold Anderson, 737 Forest Dale Road, stated that he <br />also felt that the residents had not been told the <br />truth many years ago when the area was first <br />developed. <br /> <br />Gene Stokes stated that he agreed that the concrete <br />curb and gutter are better but would the Council <br />agree to a cost split on the concrete curbing of <br />a 75% - 25% rather than a 50% - 50% split as proposed. <br />Mr. Stokes stated that he felt that since this was <br />the second time that curbing had been installed that <br />perhaps the city would be justified in paying a higher <br />portion of the cost. <br /> <br />_'7_ <br />
