'{.> \/'> ..) . <:::>G ':JC.. ,. . ~ PROPOSED RESOLUTION I WHEREAS the City has acquired 109 acres of land in 1970 for park purposes and WHEREAS this land has been designated as a regional park and WHEREAS the residents of New Brighton have expressed a desire to utilize this land for recreational purposes and WHEREAS the City of New Brighton wishes to provide its citizens with quality services in an economical manner and WHEREAS the Metropolitan Council has designated funds for development of this sit and WHEREAS the City of New Brighton and Ramsey County have agreed in previous Joint Powers Agreements to jointly plan and operate this park I NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of New Brighton does hereby approve the master plan for de- velopement of Long Lake Regional Park and the attached Joint Powers Agreement for operation and maintenance of Long Lake park with the following stipulations: I 1. That parking for large group picnic area be reduced to accommodate 100 cars. 2. That parking for the small group picnic area be reduced to accommodate 50 cars. 3. That parking at the boat launch area be re- duced to accommodate 15 vehicles with trailers; 5 for high speed boats and 10 for fishing boats or sail boats with development delayed until 1983 as requested by the New Brighton Historical Society. 4. That 1982 development capital improvement program be revised to reflect expenditures as stated in staff memo dated March 11, 1982: $ 86,000 Trails - Long Lake segment only 200,000 Access Road - Old 8 to beach 36,000 Fencing 63,000 picnic S.G. - gravel parking, site development, shelter 25,000 Reforestation - picnic and beach area 33,000 Nature Study - site development, trails, gravel parking 10,000 Fishing docks 210,000 Beach - bathhouse (no utilities), gravel parking
