<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 24, 1982 <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to separate <br />the question regarding the appointments for the <br />one year terms versus the two year terms to the <br />Finance Policy Advisory Board. <br /> <br />Vote on motion to separate the question. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to amend <br />the main motion by appointing Shirley Hogan, <br />Lawrence Olson, Richard Poston and Shirley Flekke <br />to the Finance Policy Advisory Board for terms <br />to expire December 31, 1984. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to amend <br />the main motion by appointing Dennis Wright, <br />David Eichers and Donald Sholund to the <br />Finance Policy Advisory Board for terms to <br />expire December 31, 1983. <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus stated that he felt William Jacobs <br />would be a valuable addition to the Finance <br />Policy Advisory Board as he had perhaps the <br />best broad base of experience in overall financial <br />areas. Mayor Harcus noted that Mr. Jacobs' <br />company is much like running the City's~ business. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated that all the applicants <br />for the Finance Policy Advisory Board were very <br />well qualified and that he felt the persons appointed <br />and proposed by the amended motion offered the best <br />combination of experience and education. <br /> <br />Vote on motion to amend. <br />3 ayes - 2 nayes (Harcus, Janecek) - motion carried <br /> <br />Vote on main motion as amended. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to direct <br />staff and the newly appointed Finance Policy <br />Advisory Board to begin work on the suggested work <br />program and study areas program. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt to approve the <br />following: <br /> <br />-2- <br />
