<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />;.. ,.. ., <br /> <br />Till'''''' f <br /> <br />'".~ ~,.I <br /> <br />,~,.._.._._m.-lIf <br /> <br />~~r ",~ <br />.",0" <br /> <br />,.. <br /> <br />"., <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 24, 1982 <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus stated that the bond proceeds were <br />used to pay the contractor and all costs associated <br />with the project. <br /> <br />Harold Gunelius asked if the assessment can be <br />pre-paid at any time. <br /> <br />The City Engineer noted that the interest is l2.S% <br />on the unpaid balance and that the assessment can <br />be paid at any time without penalty. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt to close <br />the hearing. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT <br />ON l6A STREET NW STORM SEWER, PROJECT 8l-S. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Mr. Bill Weidenbacher, Engineer representing <br />the Rice Creek Watershed District, and Mr. <br />Lloyd Scott, member of the Board of Managers <br />of the Rice Creek Watershed District were <br />present to discuss with the Council various <br />drainage improvement projects that the Watershed <br />District Board of Managers will be considering <br />in the very near future. <br /> <br />Watershed District <br />Improvements <br />Report No. 82-197 <br /> <br />Mr. Weidenbacher noted that he was present to <br />review the projects and to solicit support and <br />comments, and noted that he was not seeking approval <br />by the City Council. Mr. Weidenbacher reviewed <br />the proposed Jones Lake outlet project, a rip-rap <br />project along Rice Creek, a ditch improvement and <br />pending project at the southwest quadrant of <br />1-694 and 35W, and a ponding project actually <br />located within the City of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Councilmember Blomquist questioned what the funding <br />sources were for these various projects. <br /> <br />Mr. Weidenbacher stated that the projects currently <br />being considered were part of an overall 2.6 million <br />dollar improvement project, the purpose of which is <br />to improve the water quality of Long Lake. Mr. Weidenbacher <br />noted that the funding was provided 50% by the Environmental <br />Protection Agency, 25% by the State of Minnesota and 25% <br />through a ad velorem tax levy on all properties within the <br />Rice Creek Watershed District. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
