To direct staff to update residents <br />by way of the newsletter and the New Brighton Bulletin <br />on the water contamination problem, well construction <br />and water taste. <br />3. Diseased Tree Program. To direct staff to convey to <br />residents in a newsletter article the cost and benefits <br />of the Diseased Tree Program. <br />4. Recreation Program. To direct staff and the Park Board <br />to review the feasibility of a survey to determine the <br />need for additional recreation programs or services. <br />5. Noise Levels. TO reject consideration of a noise ordinance, <br />unless additional justification is provided by the EQC. <br />6. Planning and Development. To direct the Community Development <br />Department to maintain current City policy in encouraging <br />quality commercial development in the community and <br />communicate public support for such development in the <br />newsletter. <br />7. Animal Control. To direct staff to communicate to the <br />residents by way of the newsletter that the. City provides <br />this service. <br />8. F~scal Policy. To direct staff to inform residents in a <br />newsletter article of the percentage of their property <br />tax dollar that goes toward City government and other <br />details of City finance and the 1983 budget. (The Financial <br />Policy Advisory Board could also help communicate this issue <br />eventually. ) <br />9. Senior Citizens. To direct the Police Department with the <br />assistance of the Citizen Study Committee, to look at the <br />basis of senior citizen's fears and concerns of nighttime <br />safety outdoors and to develop recommendations for remedial <br />action. <br />10. Survey. To communicate the survey process and other such <br />information as the staff or Council deems appropriate in <br />the next issue of City Hall. <br /> <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON'S <br />CONTRIBUTION TO THE NORTH SUBURBAN YOUTH <br />SERVICE BUREAU. <br /> <br />North Suburban <br />Youth Service <br />Bureau <br />Report No. 82-213 <br />RESOLUTION #2624 <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke to amend <br />the motion by amending the second "WHEREAS" <br />of the Resolution by inserting the wording: <br /> <br />"...intends to authorize payment of..." <br /> <br />instead of: <br /> <br />"...has authorized payment of..." <br /> <br />-8- <br />
