<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 25, 1981 <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Anderson, 1302 29th Avenue, stated <br />that open space is a key function of quality <br />and he did not see how increased density and <br />a reduction in open space would lead to quality. <br /> <br />Lynn Holmes, 2705 13A Street, stated she would <br />like to see the property developed with single <br />family homes. <br /> <br />Forrest Holmes, 2705 13A Street, stated he questioned <br />whether there was a need for 40 quad home units on this <br />property and stated he was opposed to that much density <br />as well and that he had concerns for the traffic that <br />would be generated by this development. <br /> <br />Mr. James Patree, 1301 32nd Avenue NW, stated he <br />was not opposed to quad homes, however he was <br />opposed to quad homes in this area. <br /> <br />Lois Johnson, 2915 Innsbruck Drive, stated she <br />was opposed to any multi-family development in <br />this area. <br /> <br />Sharron Ickley, 2819 Innsbruck Drive, questioned <br />whether there was any other vehicle by which the <br />residents could express their concern and opposition <br />to this project. <br /> <br />The Mayor replied that in this form of government <br />decisions of the Council are final, subject to <br />appeal to the courts. The Mayor further replied <br />that sometimes it is beneficial for residents <br />to put their thoughts in writing as that becomes <br />a permanent record of the city Council minutes. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Walker, Brook Park, Minnesota, stated <br />his opposition to any rezoning of his property. <br /> <br />Mr. Jack Howe, 2749 14th Street, stated he was opposed <br />to the density proposed. <br /> <br />Joan Bredour, 3104 13A Street, questioned whether the <br />City can require or provide a guarantee that property <br />will remain in home ownership and not be used for <br />rental property. <br /> <br />The City Attorney replied that the City can only <br />control the type and nature of development through <br />zoning legislation, but the City cannot require <br />or place controls over the ownership of individual <br />units. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
