Page 4 <br />Their daily pass is $4.50 plus tax. With tax it is about 25 cents cheaper than the <br />Eagles Nest. <br />Breuer took the opportunity to let the Commission know that Andy Soltvedt took <br />a position in Golden Valley. His last day in New Brighton is June 26th <br />VIII. Announcements <br />A. Chair Updates <br />Frischman stated there is a collaborative meeting with Arden Hills. New Brighton <br />and Arden Hills will both get an idea about issues around trails, parks and green <br />space. It is a great opportunity. It will be held at the FSC at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, <br />June 4th <br />MOTION BY HARRELD, SECONDED BY HEINRICH, TO CANCEL THE <br />JULY 2 MEETING. MOTION CARRIED. <br />B. Department Happenings / upcoming events <br />Breuer shared the Department Happenings presentation for the month of May. <br />At the Golf Course we are up 242 rounds in the month of May from last year's <br />May numbers. <br />is Family Service Center will be closed for the annual cleaning June 29 — July 4. <br />Tomorrow the new playground will be installed at Driftwood. It is the first of 3 <br />playground builds that we are doing. The other two dates are July 23 at Vermont <br />Park and August 6 at Silver Oaks. <br />Council work sessions are now being video taped and available online. <br />Family Service Center is in line for roof replacement. <br />Heinrich noticed a broken chain on the swing set in Hansen Park. <br />Breuer stated she will have Chris Wolla look at that. <br />Trevorrow mentioned a branch is hanging over the bench at Creekview. It needs <br />trimming. <br />Trevorrow inquired if the residents that were at the Parks, Recreation and <br />Environmental Commission meeting regarding the skate park were in contact with <br />the Department and if we were getting feedback from them. <br />Breuer stated there are regular meetings scheduled that residents can take part in. <br />Both Breuer and Frischman have received e-mails from residents. Frischman <br />commented that there have been comments on both sides of the issue. Breuer <br />stated she heard comments that residents have seen improvements in the litter <br />pickup and the behavior at Freedom Park. <br />Breuer stated there was a list of things people wanted; one was a sign. We got <br />input on what they wanted on the sign. Now our Public Works Dept. will need to <br />make the sign. <br />
