Motion carried.
Mr. Richard Jacobsen began this discussion by giving a recap of issues presented in the
petition submitted to the City in August 2008. Mr. Jacobsen feels it is difficult to get
onto County Road E2 from 2"d: Ave NW. If 2"d Ave NW is not made a one way street, he
feels it should be a right turn only on 2nd Ave NW going south. He also felt the bus
traffic from Bethel College was the source of traffic noise.
Mr. Jim Pietrowski added that he would like to see 2"d Ave, 3`d Ave and 4d' Ave all be
made into cul -de -saes.
Mr. Grant Wyffels, Director of Public Works, reviewed the history of this petition request
and gave a brief background of the streets in this area. He reviewed the Level of Service
(LOS) descriptions for 2"d Ave and 3`d Ave NW. He reported traffic on 2"d Ave NW is
more "than typical." He reviewed Analysis — Traffic Calming and reviewed the
Recommendations from his report.
Mr. Wyffels concluded by saying it was his opinion that one way streets are not
appropriate for this location. The Neighborhood Speed Watch program was discussed as
an option for residents in this area.
