-3- <br />. Frischman commented that one of the key issues was when comments were made <br />about our Council Representative who was absent for the majority of the Parks, <br />Recreation and Environmental Commission meetings. <br />Denise Jacobsen inquired if the other Commission meetings were taped. <br />Burg stated some are mandated to be taped by statutory requirements; Public <br />Safety Commission is not because of sensitive information. <br />Frischman stated that she believes there are Council members who do not have <br />accurate information about the video taping of meetings. One member thought <br />that the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission had only been taped <br />for a short period of time. <br />Norton felt sometimes on these issues it is good to be non -confrontational. <br />VI. Public Hearing <br />A. None Scheduled <br />VII. Staff Report — Jeanne Balfanz, Facility Use Coordinator <br />Breuer commented that over the years she has asked staff to inform the Parks, Recreation and <br />• Environmental Commission and the public on their job responsibilities. This also provides them <br />with a public speaking opportunity. It is labor intensive for staff and they generally stay after <br />work for four hours in order to fulfill this responsibility. Because we are down staff, she may <br />suggest that this is something that she will no longer ask of staff. In addition, Jo, Office Assistant <br />may not come to meetings to take minutes. <br />Breuer also stated that that the Trails Committee has been asked to take their own minutes and <br />Jo will type them up., ; <br />Breuer stated she wanted the Commission to know they will see changes and she welcomes any <br />feedback. <br />Breuer introduced Jeanne Balfanz, Facility Use Coordinator for the past 12 years. <br />Jeanne gave her Power Point presentation which included: Meetings, Events, Conferences, <br />Celebrations, Gymnasium Rentals, Eagles Nest Indoor Playground, Neighborhood Centers <br />Brightwood Hills Clubhouse, Promote, Reserve our Facilities. <br />Staff Report — Brad Martens, Facilities Manager <br />Breuer introduced Brad Martens. This is his 5h anniversary. <br />Brad gave his Power Point presentation which included: Purpose, Family Service Center, The <br />Culture of Fiscal Responsibility, Fiscal Responsibility, Fiscal Responsibility for the Future, Roof, <br />Restrooms/Locker Rooms, Communication/Rental Needs, Looking Ahead: 2013, 2014, Recap, <br />• Brad also gave a Power Point Presentation on Safe Routes to Schools which included: <br />Background, Project sites, Progress, Still More Progress, Next Steps, Questions. <br />
