• <br />n <br />LI <br />Public Safety Commission <br />May 26, 2010 <br />Attending: Commissioner Kerns (Chair), Commissioner Allen, Commissioner <br />Haring, Commissioner Kroll, Commissioner Schumann, <br />Commissioner Woods, Council Representative Samuelson, <br />Director Jacobson, Mayor Jacobsen and Dave Matteson (Allina) <br />Absent: Commissioner Bredenbeck, Commissioner Tollefson <br />Citizens: Long Nguyen <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br />Commissioner Kerns called the meeting to order at 6:31 pm and roll call was taken. <br />April Meeting Minutes <br />The April meeting minutes were reviewed. Commissioner Allen motioned to accept the <br />minutes; Commissioner Woods seconded. Motion carried. <br />Public Hearing/Presentations <br />Director Jacobson — Metro Gang Strike Force <br />Director Jacobson gave a presentation on the Metro Gang Strike Force. Their offices <br />were located in New Brighton; however, our agency had no affiliation with them. <br />Director Jacobson gave an overview of how the Metro Gang Strike Force came into <br />existence and what went wrong. He reviewed the new legislation on forfeited property <br />that goes into effect 1 August 2010. The criminal investigation of the Metro Gang Strike <br />Force members continues by the FBI. <br />Updates <br />CERT/Citizen Corps Council <br />No report. <br />Department Reports <br />Human Rights <br />No issues; nothing to report. <br />
