WW'a M- o <br />an NEW <br />DBRIGHTON <br />the city that works for you <br />Council Worksession <br />October 26, 2010 <br />5:45 <br />5:45 pm Discussion related to Commissioner Trevorrow <br />Present: Mayor Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Phillips <br />Councilmember Samuelson <br />Councilmember Bauman <br />Councilmember Burg <br />Absent: <br />The meeting began at 5:45 pm <br />Members of the City Council reviewed the attendance record of Parks, Recreation, and <br />Environmental Commission (PREC) Member Tom Trevorrow. Mr. Trevorrow has <br />missed four PREC meetings in 2010. Pursuant to Section 2-69 of the City Code, Mr. <br />Tervorrow may be removed from PREC due to his attendance record. <br />Sec. 2-69. Absence of Members. <br />Attendance at meetings is of the utmost importance in carrying out the work of a commission. If a <br />member misses two consecutive meetings, the City Manager shall send a letter to the member <br />notifying him/her that they may be removed from the commission or committee if there are any <br />additional absences. If a member misses three consecutive regular meetings or four regular <br />meetings in a calendar year, the City Manager shall recommend removal of the member to the <br />City Council after consulting with the chairperson. The City Manager shall be responsible for <br />notifying the member of the intended and resulting action. (Ord 781, 7-14-2009) <br />Members of the City Council reviewed Mr. Trevorrow's past meeting attendance record. <br />After further discussion, the City Council directed City staff to put together a letter <br />advising Mr. Trevorrow that he can continue to serve on PREC as long as he does not <br />miss another meeting between November 2010 and March 2011. If he does miss another <br />PREC meeting during this time frame he will be removed from the commission <br />immediately. <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:15 pm
