Trails, Bike and Walk-ways—Grant Wyffels and Craig Schlichting <br /> A. City Project 08-7 Safe Routes to School update <br /> Grant Wyffels, Director of Public Works, stated this was his first time <br /> presenting to the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission. Craig <br /> Schlichting, Civil Engineer II was also presenting. <br /> Wyffels stated there was a lot happening this year with our trails system, <br /> our non-fleet and some on-going projects such as Safe Routes to Schools. <br /> We will also talk about our annual street projects. Last Tuesday, the <br /> Council had a public hearing on the Old Hwy. 8 sidewalk(from Hilton at <br /> Hwy 96 to 14th Street). Council wanted Parks, Recreation and <br /> Environmental Commission input before they closed the Public Hearing, <br /> so you will be given an update on that project and your comments will be <br /> taken before the Council next Tuesday. <br /> B. City Project 10-10, Old Highway 8 NW Sidewalk& Trail <br /> Craig Schlichting and Grant Wyfells gave a power point presentation on <br /> this project. <br /> MOTION BY JEANNE FRISCHMAN, SECONDED BY JERED <br /> WEBER, THAT THE PARKS, RECREATION AND <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION APPROVES OF THE OLD <br /> HIGHWAY 8 NW SIDEWALK AND TRAIL PLAN AS PRESENTED. <br /> MOTION CARRIED. <br /> C. City Project 11-1, 2011 Street Reconstruction <br /> Craig Schlichting and Grant Wyffels gave a power point presentation on <br /> this project. <br /> MOTION BY JEANNE FRISCHMAN, SECONDED BY JERED <br /> WEBER, TO RECOMMEND THAT OPTION 2 BE PURSUED WITH <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE STREET RE-CONSTRUCTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED. <br /> D. City Project 11-3, 2011 Pavement Management Program <br /> The Pavement Program was previously listed as part of the non-fleet CIP. <br /> Wyffels stated that 90% of the pavements were not fully funded. Wyffels <br /> recommended that all the pavement projects be taken out of the non-fleet. <br />
